Summer is in full swing! Here’s to hoping your summer vacation isn’t ruined like it was for the victims in these 25 horror movies.
Even though the summer season is a time for fun in the sun and vacation, some of the most frightening movies have been released with the premise around an unsuspecting victim on summer vacation. Instead of audiences fearing a movie set in Halloween or the cold winter months, summer vacation horrors scare viewers a lot more. Why is that?
Simply put, nothing hits home like a good summer vacation movie gone wrong. While a killer haunting victims on Halloween night is certainly scary, being kidnapped, tortured, or killed, during an activity the majority of us do during the summer is a lot more realistic. I’m talking about road trips, vacations to the beach, and sleep away camp. After all, there are so many ways a road trip could go wrong, for example.
The following 25 horror thrillers mostly take place in the summer. Some are during spring break, and others in the middle of the year. Still, they’re all during some sort of retreat that was meant to be fun and an escape from the usual routine.
